In collaboration with the Cinematography II class at Cleveland State University, led by Nick Morr, the class recreated a scene from Law & Order.
To differentiate the scene as a production designer, I focused my attention on bringing meaningful color to the scene. Bright red hues emphasize Mikey’s infatuation with fire, along with hinting at his ultimate downfall. In contrast, Stabler’s cool tones show he’s oppositional until he introduces his own flame, bringing him closer with Mikey. This prompts the boy’s confession.
